Pizarro set the early pace but with a mile to run Sing and Hoist saved ground around the turn and quickly moved from just off the pace to a half dozen lengths in front. Sing and Hoist held most of that margin the rest of the way breaking both the horse and rider's maidens over timber.

Crypto Cousin assumed a stalking position with Crimson Lode off Cool Fellow's pace. With three fences to jump Crypto Cousin joined Cool Fellow on the front end but Cool Fellow regained the lead with Crypto Cousin close behind. With a fence to go Crypto Cousin had moved alongside Cool Fellow, and they jumped as a team. Crypto Cousin landed running and outfinished Cool Fellow in the run in. Crypto Cousin and Pat Cooney won the Seven Corners championship with this win.

Under Shirt saved ground the final turn and took the lead as Millard went wide taking Schoolhouse with him. Under Shirt held off Schoolhouse Woods, who rallied in the stretch. Under Shirt is a half brother to Eclipse Award winner Good Night Shirt.
