Brave Deacon set the pace with the field close behind. At the head of the stretch Bella Coola engaged Brave Deacon, and these two battled over the last fence and through the stretch. Bella Coola won on the nod by the narrowest of noses.

Profiteer trailed the field, but was always within striking distance. He remained there while Easy Exit led in the early stages. When Easy Exit tired, Love of the Bay went to the lead and was replaced by Mo's In The House in the final three quarters. Profiteer made a bold move approaching the last fence, took the lead when it was most important and won going away. This was trainer Casey Pinkard's second win on the card.
